Going Vegan

After my diagnosis, I changed my diet immediately. I was a quasi-vegetarian before I got sick, but I forgot to focus on the vegetable part. I convinced myself that I was eating healthy because I didn’t eat meat but in all honesty I would eat an entire bag of popcorn as a meal. I mean seriously– how healthy is that? It took the wake up call of cancer to take my eating habits seriously. I started out juicing my veggies because my intestinal tract was a mess… tumors will do that, but as soon as I was done with treatment and got my first “all clear” scan, I steamed, stir-fried, and made smoothies out of my vegetables. For me, going vegan has been the best thing I ever did for my health.
